Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna (Marie) of Russia was a granddaughter, niece, and cousin, in turn to the last three Tsars of Russia, born to a level of luxury of which other princesses could only dream. Her life as a Swedish princess began in 1908 with her marriage to Prince Wilhelm of Sweden, Duke of Södermanland. A restless dissatisfaction with life was in her from childhood and it drove her on, forever looking for something she never found. She abandoned her two husbands and two very young sons and was haunted by loss and failure. This new title from Rosvall Royal Books has been a long time in the making, but now it is finally here, and a gorgeous Pictorial Biography it is. It has 419 illustrations, many of them rare and never-before published. Especially precious are the many images from the albums of the Imperial family. There are also many delightful pictures from her brief time in Sweden 1908 to 1914.

The author is Charlotte Zeepvat, well-known to all Regal Readers for her many Royal books and articles, not least in Royalty Digest and Royalty Digest Quarterly.
